
Delta Air Lines and EL AL Israel Airlines have forged a robust long-term codeshare agreement, igniting action from Dec. 18, 2023, with travel liftoff on Jan. 1, 2024. This dynamic pact elevates connection opportunities for travelers jetting between the Americas and Tel Aviv. The airlines will unleash reciprocal codeshare and frequent flyer perks, enabling the earning and redemption of SkyMiles or Matmid points across both carriers.
EL AL Israel Airlines Limited was founded in 1948 and has a current fleet of forty-seven (47) aircraft according to PlaneSpotters.net. With an average fleet age of 12.9 years, EL AL Israel’s fleet consists of twenty-five (25) Boeing 737 aircraft, six (6) Boeing 777 aircrafts, and sixteen (16) Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Delta patrons departing from North America can now soar on EL AL’s nonstop services departing from New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale bound for Tel Aviv. Simultaneously, EL AL’s code will infuse vigor into Delta’s non-stop Tel Aviv flights and a staggering 280 same-day connections through Delta’s U.S. gateways in New York-JFK, Boston, and Los Angeles. This expansive network includes key destinations such as Atlanta, Washington DC, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas, and Toronto.
When passengers first access Delta or EL AL’s services, they can conveniently check in for their entire travel experience, receiving boarding passes and seamlessly having their luggage checked through to their final destination.

Through our codeshare pact with EL AL, we’re dishing out more convenient travel options between North America and Israel.”
Shlomi Zafrany, EL AL V.P. – Commercial and Industry Affairs, celebrated the commencement of the codeshare agreement, stating, “The launch of this Delta-EL AL collaboration grants customers access to seamless one-stop services from Israel to cities across the Americas, while extending EL AL’s world-class service to new North American patrons.”
Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, EL AL CEO, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “We take pride in this collaboration with Delta, whom I consider a cherished long-term ally.”
Delta and EL AL patrons can now actively accrue and utilize miles on each other’s services through Delta’s SkyMiles and EL AL’s Matmid frequent flyer programs. Effective Jan. 15, both carriers will actively shower reciprocal benefits upon their top-tier frequent flyer members, delivering perks like preferred seat access, priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage allowance, and lounge access (where applicable).
